Hi, my name is Greg Welikson, and I am a Licensed Psychologist based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I am authorized to provide telehealth services to clients in 43 states via PSYPACT, including AL, AZ, AR, CO, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI, and WY.
I am dedicated to supporting highly dedicated professionals and parents in. My approach focuses on transforming the struggle of burnout and role conflict into genuine balance and peace.
My clinical training emphasizes evidence-based and emotionally-focused interventions, equipping me to address the unique internal and external pressures faced by those who strive for excellence in multiple areas of life.
Core Qualifications & Experience
Doctorate: Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University.
Specialized Training: My comprehensive training occurred within high-demand academic settings, including my pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Duke University’s Counseling and Psychological Services and clinical training at the Barnard College Counseling Center.
Emotional Focus: My practice is grounded in my advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) principles, dedicated to helping you use your emotional life as a resource for clarity, connection, and purposeful decision-making.

My work also integrates practical skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to provide you with tools to:

On a personal note, I deeply understand the challenges of balancing a demanding professional life with the joys and pressures of family. Outside the office, I am focused on practicing what I preach: prioritizing presence over perfection. You’ll often find me chasing after my two young children, enjoying a good book, at a Durham Bulls game, or playing in a Sunday Softball League.
